Since 1968, the Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry, formerly the Office of Urban Affairs, has encouraged the light of faith, which leads to justice, to shine in the Archdiocese of Hartford and beyond its borders.
The work of the Office illuminates the cause and effects of poverty and injustice while sharing the tools that promote action in parishes and communities. As we look back on the good work of many years, we are continuously reminded that without the involvement of countless individuals, parishes and communities our accomplishments would be few.
There are numerous ways to participate in and support the work of social justice – to let your light shine as a beacon of hope for those who experience the hardships of poverty, discrimination, and injustice of all kinds.
